The Director General Regional Tax Office Sajjad Ali has said that hurdle-free arrangements have been made to facilitate the business community and general public to file their IT returns.
Addressing a refund voucher cheques distribution ceremony held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Saturday, he added that the department has been purged from the menace of corruption and "Sefarish" not only for ensuring speedy justice but also to accelerate the working of the department.
Sajjad Ali was of the opinion that a strong and effective Income Tax Bar Association could play an instrumental role in weeding out the corruption and elimination of corrupt elements from the department. The DG Regional Tax further stated that steps taken by the department would surely reduce the complaints of the masses and help in smooth functioning of the department.
Speaking on the occasion President SCCI Khurram Anwar Khawaja on behalf of the business community lauded the efforts of Regional Tax Office for minimising the problems and eliminating the menace of corruption and Sefarish from the department.
Later, Director General Regional Tax Office Sajjad Ali along with former President SCCI Khawar Anwar Khawaja and President SCCI Khurram Anwar Khawaja distributed as many as 93 refund voucher cheques amounting Rs 50 lakh among the business community of the area.
