Lahore police have launched a vigorous campaign against proclaimed offenders and court absconders involved in heinous crimes, extortionists and land grabbers and all the officers should actively take part in the campaign and submit performance report on their progress on daily basis.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore, said this while presiding over a meeting of senior police officers on Tuesday to review law and order and the ongoing campaign against criminals in the provincial metropolis.
He directed the officers to utilise all their energies to achieve the target by reorganising the lists of proclaimed offenders, court absconders, drug pushers, gambling dens and brothels in the city and take stringent action against them.
He also underlined the need to promote community policing and keep close liaison with the notables of the area for this purpose. He directed to arrest criminals of different criminal gangs, which are still at large.
Moreover, Pervez Rathore directed the divisional SPs to further intensify patrolling in their respective areas and deploy additional force at important places, adding to make foolproof arrangements at the entry points of the city and ensure checking of suspicious vehicles besides persons. Divisional SPs should conduct surprise visits to various places to review the performance of the officials and brief them properly.
DIG Investigation Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhaira and SSP Operations Chaudhry Shafique Ahmed also briefed the meeting about the steps taken to eradicate crime in the city, saying crime-prone areas had been identified through a scientific analysis and patrolling had been enhanced in such areas.
Investigation SSP, Zulifqar Hameed told the meeting that 136 proclaimed offenders and court absconders were nabbed in a crackdown on June 30. All divisional SPs of the Lahore police also attended the meeting.
