Despite clarification by the government regarding miscalculated increase in CNG prices, most of the filling stations of the twin cities stopped supply of gas instead of decreasing its rates, on Wednesday.
According to a survey conducted by Business Recorder, majority of the filling stations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi were flouting the government order and instead of decreasing prices, stopped the CNG supply to add to the woes of motorists.
Tariq Rahim, a resident of F-10 Markaz said that the filling stations, who were charging 31 percent increase in the morning, stopped the supply in the evening. He said that Oil and Gas Regularity Authority (Ogra) is responsible for all this confusion and urged the government to take stern action against the authorities concerned. Ahmad Yaseen, a taxi driver, said that the surplus amount, which the filling stations had charged from consumers, should be recovered and used for the welfare of people.
