Edhi announces 'Bheek Mission' scheme

Head of the Edhi Foundation Dr Abdul Sattar Edhi has announced a scheme "Bheek Mission" to collect funds to provide free food for the poor people. He said that around 2 million people would be benefited from this scheme and free food would be provided in 325 Edhi centres in Pakistan.
He announced this while addressing a press conference on his two-day visit to collect funds for his new project "Bheek Mission" here at Lahore Press Club on Wednesday. He said that he had started his campaign from Mall Road and collected Rs 70,000 in two hours. He would also collect funds from Liberty and other trade centres of the city. He termed Pakistani nation as "alive nation."
He said that his mission was very successful in other provinces especially Balochistan and North West Frontier Province (NWFP) where law enforcement agencies advised him not to visit and he had collected millions of rupees from these provinces.
He also said that he never accepts any grant from any country because he believes that Pakistani nation is a charitable nation. He said that his mission is to spread the message of humanity. He criticised the lawyers by saying that their movement would not provide relief to the people. He also criticised politicians and capitalists for exploiting the people of Pakistan for sixty years.
About the question of accepting the cheque of 100 thousand Rupees from President Musharraf's personal account, he said that he accepts the donation from any one because it is for a good cause. He also told that staff of the President House also gave him the donation of one million Rupees. He appreciated the role of middle class and poor people for helping him in a noble cause.
