Raw sugar futures early on Wednesday at a four-month top after investor buying moved back into the market, following another spike in crude, to erase losses from a short-lived setback, brokers said. The benchmark October raw sugar contract climbed 0.26 cent to settle at 13.98 cents per lb, trading from 13.59 to 14.06 cents.
Volume in the October contract was 50,536 lots at 1:57 pm EDT (1857 GMT). Technicians see resistance in the October contract at 13.96 and 14 cents, with support at 13 and 12.50 cents. Total volume Tuesday was 146,274 lots, exchange data showed.
