221 employees of PUNJMIN to be regularised

The 70th meeting of Board of Directors (BoD) of the Punjab Mineral Development Corporation (PUNJMIN) held on Tuesday in the committee room of the office of Secretary Mines and Mineral Department to regularise the services of 221 employees working for 10 to 15 years. At least 150 employees are working in the grades 1 to 4.
Senior Minister Raja Riaz Ahmad chaired the meeting. Secretary M&MD, Secretary PUNMIN and other members of the BoD who also approved the minutes of the 69th BoD's meeting adopting S&GAD rules to promote and seek opinion from the Regulations Wing.
Riaz ordered the meeting to appoint a sub-committee to be chaired by the association secretary to mull over the charter of demands of PUNJMIN C.B.A and asked the Secretary to present his report in the next meeting.
PUNJMIN has earned 200 percent profit in the current month, the Secretary informed. The BoD also decided to adopt S&GAD rules for rotational transfer of General Managers after every three year. It was also agreed to set up PUNJMIN Rest House at Lahore for the visiting staff. However, the facility would be limited to the rank of Deputy General Managers, Project Managers and other high-ups only.
Keeping in view the good financial performance of the Corporation, the BoD allowed half salary as cash award for the officers and junior staff with the direction that this facility would be subjected to the Corporation's profit. A total sum of Rs 9 lakh will be spent on cash awards, the meeting was told.
The PUNJMIN Board of Directors agreed to adopt Cummutive Sales Price System to encourage further exploration and investment in the mines sector in Punjab as the Board observed that this would also result in creating new job opportunities and increasing profit ratio.
It was also decided to seek guidance from S&GAD/Regulations Wing for the revision of rate of gratuity and also approved promotion/move-over of 9 PUNJMIN officers.
Senior Minister, Raja Riaz directed the Secretary to decide the case of ex-Project Manager Attock, Ali Abid Malhi against whom departmental enquiries are lying pending on merit. The BoD also approved official cell phone ceiling for the four Principal Officers of PUNJMIN. However this facility will be subjected to the profit of the Corporation, the Board directed.
