Socio-political circles concerned over government performance

09 Jul, 2008

Socio-political circles have expressed deep concern over the poor performance of the government and alleged that due to weak policies of the government the industrial sector as well as common man adversely affected in the country.
According to survey conducted by Business Recorder, these circles alleged that no thing has been done practically for the welfare of the masses in the country. The price-hike, increase in Sui gas charges, and further increase in electricity tariff are gift of the government, they pointed out.
If the situation remained the same the industrial sector would become standstill and resultantly there would be huge unemployment, they were of the opinion. These circles also said that despite strengthening industrial sector, the government was squeezing it and most of the businessmen were looking for a safe haven and considering shifting their business to foreign countries.
If the process of shifting takes place it would be a serious blow to the national economy, they added. Some female while commenting on the situation alleged that present government has snatched the "bread and butter" from the common man. Is it a welfare state where people were struggling for their survival? they questioned. They also said that our leaders are totally unaware about the people's problems and their economic constraint.
It is very unfortunate that our leaders are living in fool's paradise. They don't have any interest in the common man's problems and least concern with the national issues. It seems there is no sign of the government, they added.
The current political scenario is indicating that the two major parties, PPPP and PML-N, are working on their agenda and enjoying the miseries of the masses. Both the parties are ignoring the basic needs of the masses and are working on different lines of their own interests whereas the people are least interested in the restoration of deposed judges. They were direly needed inexpensive articles of daily use for their survival in the country.
These circles urged the government to refrain from enhancing charges of electricity to facilitate the common man and for the survival the industrial sector of the country. The industrial sector was being adversely affected due to the load shedding as a result of which the productivity had become standstill in the country, they added.
