Red alert after report of explosive-laden cars' entry into Rawalpindi

Nasir Khan Durrani, Regional Police Officer, Rawalpindi on Tuesday said that security in Rawalpindi was beefed up after information regarding the entry of explosive-laden vehicles. "We have increased the force around the sensitive installations particularly the Defence to avoid any such incident," Durrani told Business Recorder on Tuesday.
After Islamabad and Karachi multiple blasts, the security high alert was announced in the country and all-out efforts are being made to trace these vehicles, he said. He said that number of law enforcement agencies personnel including Elite Force, Mohafiz Force, police and other organisations was increased in the entire Rawalpindi division, while the patrolling was also intensified.
He asked people to cooperate with LEAs to avert such disruptive acts in the area. Earlier, Inspector General of Police in an official letter announced that two double-cabin suspicious vehicles had entered the limits of Punjab. One of the cars is of white colour while the other was red. He directed all the Regional Police Officers, City Police Officers and District Police Officers to enhance security to avoid any untoward incident.
