Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has announced financial assistance of rupees one million each for the families of the Punjab police officials who were martyred in a bomb blast in Islamabad. This amount will be in addition to the financial assistance to be given by the Police Department to the heirs of the deceased police officials.
The Chief Minister made this announcement while giving a cheque of Rs 1 million to the widow of Shaheed Head Constable of Lahore Police Shabbir Ahmed Raza, who was martyred as a result of firing during an attempt to arrest a proclaimed offender. The Chief Minister directed the IG Police that the flag of Punjab Police be displayed at the site of bomb blast to pay homage to the martyrs.
