The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) held an award distribution ceremony at its regional office in Lahore recently in honour of its meritorious students of Northern Region who qualified in the examinations held in the year 2007.
Students from the Northern region were awarded gold medals and merits certificates for their outstanding performance. Besides, recently qualified Chartered Accountants from the Northern Region were also given examination, passing certificates. President ICAP, Imran Afzal, FCA, awarded the gold medals and certificates.
In his address to the students, the President facilitated the gold medallists and certificate holders and reposed confidence in the ability of the recently qualified Chartered Accountants to apply the technical knowledge and practical experience to render quality services and uphold the public trust vested in them as professionals.
The President also apprised the audience of the efforts being made by the Institute for obtaining greater recognition from the prestigious accounting bodies such as Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia. Vice President North region, Rafaqat Ullah Babar, lauded the efforts of the students and their parents for their well-deserved academic success.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion included, Shaukat Amin Shah (former President), Sheikh Mohammad Masood (former Vice President), Tariq Ayub Qureshi (former Vice President) and Dr Waqar Masood Khan (Council member).-PR
