Higher Education Commission (HEC) realises that integration of Pakistan could be further strengthened by paying special attention to Pakistani languages. This was stated by Executive Director, HEC, Professor Dr Sohail H Naqvi, in a meeting of editors of various Pakistani languages (Balochi, Brahvi, Sindhi, Pashto and Punjabi) journals held here on Monday.
He termed Pakistani languages as part and parcel of cultural heritage of Pakistan. He further said that since its inception, HEC has initiated a number of programmes for the promotion of teaching and research, institutional and human resource development in the field of social sciences and humanities.
Moreover, he stressed the participants to take the advantage of the opportunities and programmes offered by HEC. Professor Dr Riaz Qureshi Adviser (Quality Assurance & Learning Innovation) HEC apprised the participants about criteria for HEC recognised journals and funding mechanism for the improvement of journals in different categories.
