In occupied Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and senior Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani have urged India to accept the ground realties and settle the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris' aspirations. The Hurriyat leaders were addressing a mammoth gathering at Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar, KMS reported.
They said the people of Kashmir had not rendered sacrifices for elections or selections, perks or privileges, but for complete freedom from Indian occupation. The leaders pointed out that so-called elections in the occupied territory could not provide any solution to Kashmir dispute and the main objective of staging such dramas was to mislead the world opinion. Condemning the atrocities of Indian troops in Kashmir, the Hurriyat leaders said: "On one hand, the troops are trying to crush the freedom struggle while on the other New Delhi's puppets are trying to divide Kashmiris."
