US copper futures pushed higher early on Monday as strength in surrounding commodity markets gave the red metal a modest boost, but uncertain global demand prospects held the early momentum in check, brokers said.
Copper for September delivery was trading up 2.55 cents at $3.7655 per lb by 10:56 am EDT (1456) on the New York Mercantile Exchange's COMEX division. The morning range ran from $3.7105 to $3.7820. Futures volumes were estimated at 3,202 lots by 9 am.
