Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Central Finance Secretary Muhammad Pervez Malik has said that people are least bothered about the negative propaganda of PML-Q leaders, who are bent upon to create despondency and despair in the country by indulging in rumour-mongering. Speaking at a function at Islampura here on Wednesday, Malik said the PML-Q leaders were making hue and cry only due to fear of accountability.
He alleged political victimisation, corruption and exploitation marked the PML-Q's rule in Punjab. "Those who looted national wealth would have to account for it", he said. Though the PML-Q had accepted its defeat in the elections, it was not ready to accept the mandate given by the people to PML-N and was thus spreading rumours that elections would be held with two months, he added.
Malik said that President Pervez Musharraf and the PML-Q leaders should restrain from creating political instability and uncertainty in the country, adding that PML-N would not allow anybody to indulge in activities against the mandate of the people.
He said various initiatives, taken by Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, including reforms programme, would bring about revolutionary changes in the province.
Appreciating Food Stamp scheme, he said it was people-friendly programme of the Chief Executive of Punjab. He said that the PML-N achieved success in the election on the services to the masses in the past and Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif would not disappoint masses in the future as well.
