China has renamed a hospital as Pakistan-China Friendship Hospital in recognition of the services of Pakistan medical mission looking after Chinese earthquake victims.
The Charge d'Affairs at Pakistan mission Abdul Salik Khan on Thursday said that in recognition of outstanding services provided by the Pakistani medical mission to the affected people of May 12 devastated earthquake, the Chinese government has named the hospital as "Pakistani-China Friendship Hospital".
The 28-member Pakistan medical team had established a field hospital with all-modern medical equipment, ambulance and large quantity of medicines in Long Nan City in north-western China's Gansu Province that concluded its assignment in the second week of June.
The Chinese President, Hu Jintao also visited the Pakistani medical hospital and during meeting with medical staff, he appreciated the dedication and their professional skill. President Hu on the occasion also thanked the gesture of Pakistani government for providing relief goods and medical assistance to the affected people.
