DCO orders completion of work on Rani Bagh, Zoo by Eid

The District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Hyderabad, Ali Ahmed Lund has directed authorities to conmplete development work at the Rani Bagh and it's zoo and erect big cages for big animals. The DCO stressed that the work should be completed before Eid-ul-Fitr so that people could go there during the holidays.
Lund said this while chairing a meeting to review the work of Rani Bagh, held at his office Thursday morning. The DCO directed the Deputy Project Director HDP to construct five cages, for a Lion, a Crocodile, a Jackal, a Wolf and a Fox along with 120 other cages for different animals and birds.
The DCO said that the City District Government Karachi shifted the animals to the Karachi Zoo in September 2006, due to heavy rainwater in the animal's cages. He also ordered that quality of development work be ensured so that the people were facilitated.
The DCO Hyderabad further said that the opening of Rani Bagh would not only provide entertainment to the people but it would be helpful for generating income to Taluka Municipal Administration Qasimabad as well.
On the occasion, DPD HDP, Haleem Ghori informed the meeting that out of its budget of Rs 15 crore for the development of Rani Bagh Hyderabad, Rs 8 crore has been utilised. He said that 46 cages have been constructed in Zoo for different animals and birds as per their requirement.
He added that the renovation work on Eidgah was 90 percent complete, while Abbas Bhai Park was 75 percent complete, the Zoo and Rani Bagh were each 60 percent complete and the Open Air Theatre halfway done.
On the occasion, the DCO directed DPD HDP, TMO Qasimabad, DO Forest and Chairman District Monitoring Committee for Works & Services to pay daily visits to the development sites and report the progress of development works. Taluka Naib Nazim Qasimabad Haider Shuhani, UC Nazim Mehboob Abro, EDO Revenue Hyderabad Syed Barkaat Rizvi, DPD HDP Abdul Haleem Ghori, DO Forest Hyderabad, TMO Qasimabad and others attended the meeting.
