Two main power supply pylons, including 132 kV Kahan-Kohlu transmission line were blown up when powerful bombs planted by the pylons went off in Nasazai area of Kohlu district on Sunday, said Kohlu district administration sources.
Some unknown miscreants had planted two bombs one each by the two power supply towers, which went off and damaged completely 132 kV Kahan-Kohlu transmission line and the other pylon. Following the blasts, the electricity supply was suspended to Kohlu district and its surrounding villages.
Qesco sources said the company had not yet arranged alternative power supply to Kohlu and its surroundings. They, however, said that the damaged power supply pylons would be repaired and electricity supply to the district would be restored soon.
Qesco officials had extended its profuse excuse to consumers for their inconvenience they were facing due to non-supply of electricity in Kohlu district. No loss to any life was made as a result of the blast. Kohlu police had registered a case against unknown miscreants and started investigation.
