Capital City Police (CCP) Officer Muhammad Pervez Rathore has ordered all the divisional SPs to ensure implementation of Shops & Establishment Act at all costs by heads of all the important business and industrial centers, financial institutions and shops-owners in letter and spirit.
In a special circular, addressed to all the divisional SPs, the CCP Officer directed to get installed close circuit TV cameras as well as recording equipment in financial and business institutions.
He said that under the act it is mandatory to post two security guards at such financial institutions where business limit is more than five million and one security guard at institutions whose limits is up-to 2.5 million but less than five million.
He said that prior information must be provided to police about transaction of huge amount, besides posting of vigilant and certified security guards at financial institutions and business centers. He said close circuit TV cameras and recording machines must be monitored round the clock and police should be informed about suspicious elements immediately.
He said weapons under use of security guards must be in proper condition and all CCTV cameras installed at important places should be working properly. The CCP officer also directed owners of cinema houses to ensure use of metal detectors as well as showing of slides pertaining to prevention of terrorism activities.
Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Pervez Rathore appealed to the representatives of business community, heads of financial and industrial institutions to cooperate with police and implement the said act which will not only be in their benefit but will also be helpful in elimination of crime.
He directed divisional SPs to launch a awareness campaign pertaining to the implementation of this law and display banners and hoardings at proper places in their respective areas.
