The Punjab Highways Patrolling (PHP) is being assigned duties to control traffic and check traffic violations on highways throughout the province. Faisalabad Range Superintendent of Police, PHP, Humayun Sindhu, said this during an inaugural ceremony of patrolling posts, Malhu More and Diana More District Jhang, here on Tuesday.
DSP city circle Muhammad Aslam Shankar, DSP Patrolling Ijaz Maghsi, DSP Headquarters Faisalabad Mudasar Bhatti, union nazims, councillors, Riaz Javed, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, Haji Mahfooz Ullah and other notables of the area were also present.
Earlier, speaking to the audience Humayun Sindhu said the PHP believed in public service, therefore, it had introduced friendly policing throughout the province, adding that people would feel security after activating of these patrolling posts.
Moreover, he said that the PHP performance was very well due to the monitoring system of Punjab Home Department. The vacancies of various patrolling posts would be filled within the next few months. Speaking on the occasion, DSP, Muhammad Aslam Shankar said the PHP was a symbol of service and protection, adding that it had an outstanding position in the Punjab police within the short period.
Furthermore, talking to newsmen, SP Sindhu maintained the PHP had established mobile education units to extend the community policing. The removal of encroachments on highways was a main task of PHP and action in this regard was being taken in co-ordination with the local administration. On the directions of provincial government, PHP would take control of highway traffic within the next few months, Sindhu added. Later, he inaugurated the newly-constructed buildings of patrolling posts at Malhu More and Diana More.
