FWBL generates Rs 238 million profits

The First Women Bank Limited (FWBL) generated the operational profits of Rs 238 million in the year 2007. During the year, the Bank showed the record growth in all financial key components. The total advances portfolio reached the highest position of Rs 3,129 million, reflecting growth over 418 percent, says a press release.
Deposits increased to Rs 7.5 billion and shareholders equity increased to Rs 1,088 million. Total Assets increased to Rs 8,985 million. Investments stood at Rs 3,159 million and the total investment portfolio increased by Rs 23 million. Net Asset Value per share increased from Rs 32.96 to Rs 38.35. During the year, funded per party limit increased to Rs 211.8 million.
Addressing the 19th Annual Conference of the First Women Bank Ltd in Karachi, FWBL President Ms Zarine Aziz expressed her satisfaction over the performance of the Bank. She said the Bank in it endeavours to provide quality service catering to the special needs of women in the country.
The theme of the conference was "Giving Women the power to succeed." Highlighting the conference theme, the FWBL president said our mission for transforming the status of women from passive beneficiaries to dynamic agents of change is our commitment.
Later, Ms Zarine Aziz awarded the management and staff for their outstanding performance in the year 2007. AIOU branch, Islamabad, showed extraordinary growth in advances in 2007 received.
Outstanding Award: Multan and Sukkur branches were declared the overall Best Branches for achieving all three targets. Sialkot branch received the Best Foreign Exchange Award. Best Branch as per Audit category was given to Main Boulevard, Lahore. Mall Branch Lahore achieved the runner-up award in achieving Deposit target. Executive of the year award were given to Ms Ghazala Hussain SVP/Sector Executive Islamabad Region, Ms Naushaba Shahzad, deputy head, Credit Head Office, Ms Shaheen Zamir AVP-Marketing and Public Relations Head office, Mustansir Rao Treasurer and Abdul Sattar Siddiqui off. Performance Excellence Awards were given to Ms Rukhsana Javed, chief manager MB Lahore, Ms Azra Aijaz, manager, Mall Branch, Lahore; Ms Farhana Shakeel, manager, Imperial Court, Karachi; Ms Barira Amir, manager, AIOU Branch, Islamabad; and Ms Rukhsana Mirani, manager, Sukkur branch.
Certificates of Excellence were awarded to Ms Shaheen Zamir, Ms Zill-e-Jannat, Ms Salma Sultan, Ms Rana Habib, and Ms Rozina Raja for passing IBP superior qualification exam. However, Certificates of Excellence were also awarded to Ms Khadija Farid, Ms Naveeda Ali, Ms Shamama-tul-Umber Parvaiz, Ms Ghazala Perveen, Ms Humna Masud, Ms Qurat-ul-Ain, Ms Humaira Mubashir, Haji Mehboob, Shershah, Shabbir, and Baseer-ul-Haq.-PR
