LHC stays recovery proceedings against hotel

25 Jul, 2008

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has stayed the recovery proceedings before the commissioner Wages initiated against a hotel on the petition of its employees.
The petitioner hotel administration through its counsel Jawad Hassan contended that the respondent employees had filed the application against the petitioner with malafide intention to harass and extort money from it by making false statement about the salaries and increment due under the Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA) settlement agreement.
The counsel argued that respondent commission passed any order against the petitioner without giving any reason or justification. He therefore, prayed to the court to declare the orders passed by the respondent commission as illegal and without jurisdiction.
