Indonesian shares gain

Indonesian shares closed 1.4 percent higher on Monday in moderate volume led by mining and telecommunication blue chips, dealers said. The Jakarta Composite Index rose 30.33 points to 2,275.67 on volume of 3.2 billion shares worth 4.14 trillion rupiah (453 million dollars).
Tin miner Timah rose 3.2 percent to 31,050 rupiah and heavyweight Telkom rose 3.2 percent to 8,000 rupiah. Bucking the trend, car distributor Astra fell 1.6 percent to 22,000 rupiah on profit taking.
