Obama meets Gilani

US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Tuesday met with Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani here on Tuesday and discussed relations between the two countries. The presumptive Democratic nominee is a co-sponsor of the recently introduced Biden-Lugar legislation that seeks to triple economic assistance for Pakistan over next five years (1.5 billion dollar annually) and proposes a similar package for another five years.
He favours sustained co-operation with Pakistan in the fields of education and economic development.
