Malaysian High Commissioner Ahmad Sahizan Abd Samad has launched new Acision offices at Saudi Towers here on Wednesday. The company is world's pioneering text messaging enterprise and holds 66 percent of market share in Pakistan. Across the world, it provides solutions for over 300 network operations and service providers as well as 1.9 billion consumers in 135 countries.
After Samad had cut the red tape at the new premises and announced the appointment of Pakistan's Country Manager Salman Nayyar, organisation's Asia Pacific Managing Director Bondewija Pesh, in a news conference, outlined a range of value-added products the company would bring to this country.
"Acision customers have handled 300 billion text messages through the system world-wide; 60 percent of all text messages sent to the US are now managed by Acision messaging solutions. The company would now work in the new field of messaging in Pakistan," said Pesh.
SMS messaging and voice mails have overtaken business. We were the first company in the world to launch commercial MMS, Pesh added. The medium is rapidly changing telecom market; bringing new revenue opportunities. He said sponsored messages create revenue space, and commercial establishments were increasing using messaging to advertise their products.
Pesh replied a Media question saying Acision had researched Pakistan market since 1988-89 and talking to friends, before moving. We see possibility of take off here, now, he announced in the briefing. New Acision Country Manager Salman Nayyar will take responsibility for business development and sales in Pakistan.
