Finance Division hosted a farewell dinner in the honour of outgoing Chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Abdullah Yousaf, which was also attended by Minister of Finance Naveed Qamar. Ahmed Waqar Chairman FBR, senior officers of Ministry of Finance attended the dinner and lauded the services of Abdullah Yousaf. Minister of Finance, while speaking on the occasion commended the valuable contributions of Abdullah Yousaf.
"He (Abdullah Yousaf) is the person who served the country in many ways," he said. The minister said successive leadership of the FBR would surely make use of the expertise of Abdullah Yousaf. Speaking on the occasion, Abdullah Yousaf recalled his early days when he had joined Utility Stores Corporation as its Director Finance. "I did Charted Accountancy in England, and initially appointed in a local firm, but returned home with a strong urge to serve my own country," he said.
The outgoing chairman also stressed the need that FBR needed to be further strengthened so that it could play more supporting role in national economy. He said the minister for finance, whom he had long association with, would give good account of himself and effectively cope with the current challenging circumstances.
