At least 10 persons died and 17 were injured when a passenger pickup plunged into deep ravine near Badal in Buner district on Friday, police said. The condition of several injured was stated to be critical and were hospitalised in Buner and Shangla districts, an official of Dagar police station said.
The tragic incident happened when driver Khurshid lost control over the steering wheel of Pick up No-II/Mosakhel and fell into deep ravine. Resultantly, 10 persons expired instantly while 17 others sustained critical wounds. The names of the deceased could not been identified while driver Khurshid, Muhammad Hussain, Ziaullah, child Farooq, Salauddin, Rashid, Mst Husan Baha, Mst Hameeda, Sher Rehman etc were injured.
Emergency has been declared in Dir and Shangla hospitals, while doctors called for blood donations, hospital sources informed. The Badal area is mostly mountainous and the accident occurred, which believed to be due to slippery road by rain. The pick up was coming from Poran Shangla district to Swari in Buner district.
