August 14 celebrations: preparations underway in Sialkot

Independence Day will be celebrated with the usual zeal and enthusiasm on August 14th in Sialkot district. Various social and cultural organisations as well as educational institutions were busy preparing colourful programs to commemorate the nation's Independence Day with national spirit in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils.
The sale of national flags, colourful buntings and garlands, big portraits of Quaid-i-Azam, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and other national heroes is prevalent through out the city in the run up to the 14th. People through our the district have started decorating their houses with national flags to mark the occasion as well.
The daylong programmes will start with special prayers for the solidarity, unity and prosperity of the country and for the early liberation of Indian-held Kashmir in all the mosques of Sialkot. A special flag hoisting ceremony would also be held under the auspices of the Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration (STMA) at Jinnah Hall.
