04 Aug, 2008

President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Kisan Wing Punjab, Major Syed Zulfiqar Hussain (Retd) has said that kisan wing of the party is being reorganised at union level to make it more effective. Talking to APP here on Sunday, he said 900 office bearers of the wing had been appointed at district level across the province, while nomination at union level would soon be made.
He said that President PML-N Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif had directed to reorganise all party wings at local level to actively participate in the next general elections. He said PML-N contested the last general elections without any preparation, which, he added, was the main cause of getting less seats in national and provincial assemblies.
He said now PML-N chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed for reorganisation of the party at local level in all the four provinces.
He said he is visiting all the districts for the appointment of office bearers of Kisan Wing, while a special cell has been established at the provincial office to redress the complaints of party workers. Syed Zulfiqar said PML-N is committed to betterment of growers and has announced various incentives for them in the provincial budget for the fiscal 2008-09.
He said agriculture is backbone of the country's economy and party leadership is fully aware of the fact that country cannot be put on the road to progress and prosperity without ensuring revolutionary reforms for its uplift.
