Independence Day preparations in full swing in Multan

As the auspicious day of August 14 (an Independence Day) approaches nearer, the enthusiasm among children, all men and women, young and old develops alike who have already started showing keen interest in buying national flags, stickers and badges from shops to celebrate the Day in a befitting manner on August 14.
One can see that the preparations for the Day are in full swing in the ancient city of Multan where printing presses are also busy in preparing flags, buntings and placards.
As the day comes nearer, national flags can be seen - fluttering atop the government and private buildings, houses, markets and shops while streets, lanes, and neighbourhoods, which are being decorated with bunting.
National flags can also be seen hoisting on cars, trucks and motorcycles. A university student Rana Faraz Bashir on Sunday said his father has given him pocket money from which he bought flag, buntings and some stickers to celebrate the day with fellows in a befitting manner. "Every year my father facilitates me to purchase such material and I am happy," he said.
Another boy said like other youngsters of the country he would display flag on the rooftop of his house, fix stickers on his motorcycle and badges on his shirt. Similarly, one can also see young girls are seen buying green dresses to mark the Day.
Various programs, stage shows and dramas are being prepared to be on aired on this day to recall the sacrifices of various personalities who bore a lot of hardship for the achievement of homeland. Speech competitions on this auspicious occasion are also arranged to highlight the grand sacrifices rendered by our elders to achieve a separate homeland.
