A division bench of the Lahore High Court admitting a petition for regular hearing here on Tuesday sought reply from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab in a petition challenging physical remand of daughter of Sibt-ul-Hassan alias Double Shah granted to NAB.
Shah's wife Kausar-un-Nisa, through Aftab Ahmad Bajwa advocate, submitted that her daughter is a student and had nothing to do with her father's business. She had been in the NAB custody for the last two weeks.
Her counsel said according to the Supreme Court's ruling a woman could not be sent on physical remand except for her involvement in either a case of robbery or murder. The counsel alleged that NAB had been keeping the girl in custody for getting illegal gratification. When the court asked NAB counsel Ali Tipu about the case, he said Shah's cases were pending before a division bench headed by Justice Syed Shabbar Raza Rizvi. The bench, therefore, sought NAB's reply till August 13.
