US MIDDAY: coffee jumps

London benchmark November was robusta coffee futures surged more than 4 percent on fund buying to a session peak of $2,396 a tonne on Tuesday, dealers said. "Buy stops were hit," a dealer said. November stood at $2,390 a tonne, up $94, in brisk volume of 4,745 lots at 1409 GMT.
Benchmark September cocoa was down $16 at $2,767 a tonne by 9:24 am, ranging from $2,693 to $2,776. September volume 3,475 lots by 9:25 am EDT.
