'Strengthening parliament essential to resolve problems'

10 Aug, 2008

MNA, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Farzana Raja, said that coalition parties' decision to strengthen the parliament would help resolve the miseries and problems of the masses. Talking to private TV channel, she said that the issue of restoration of judges must be resolved in accordance with the aspirations and wishes of the people.
Moreover, she said that decisions were not taken in the parliament, rather they were decided in the drawing rooms, which were implemented through an executive order or a ordinance. To a question she said that PPP has decided this time that parliament would be made stronger and for it they are ready to take all risks.
She said that PPP has taken up a big challenge and hoped that people will support them as the people have given them mandate in the 18th February polls. She said the problems of the people are same, but the point to ponder is that why people are deprived of bread, cloth and shelter, it were the economic policies of the previous government which have led to the present crises.
It proved that their policies were wrong and the polling results on 18th February were actually the rejection of these policies above all decisions were of a single person, she added. Raja said that some circles say that the people have not given you the mandate to impeach.
