IMM speculators boost long dollar position

Currency speculators raised their bets on the US dollar, according to the latest weekly data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Friday. The value of the US dollar's net long position rose to $7.89 billion in the week to August 5, from 1.73 billion the previous week.
The aggregate USD position is derived from the net positions of International Monetary Market speculators in the yen, euro, British pound, Swiss franc, Canadian and Australian dollars.
