7.5 million sacks of fertiliser seized

A team led by EDO Agriculture, Syed Zafaryab Haider has seized 7.5 million sacks of fertilisers which were being stored in a godown of a local company located on Bahawalpur Road. The team tried to sell these sacks of fertilisers on government rates after which the owner started firing as a result 4 persons were wounded.
The injured were admitted to Nishtar Hospital. The team has sealed the godown. Dozens of farmers protest against this action and also blocked the Bahawalpur Road. Police registered a case against 10 persons and also arrested two people. Higher authorities have been informed about the details of this incident. Farmer unions have said while demanding the investigation of that incident for storing fertiliser on such a large scale that companies should be directed to maintain the record of their sale and production.
