Former Servicemen Society to provide evidence against Musharraf

Ex-Servicemen Society has decided to provide solid proofs and recommendation for the impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf.
Addressing a news conference after its meeting here Sunday, Lieutenant General Saleem Haider Tirmazi (Retd), former Corps Commander Rawalpindi Lieutenant General Jamshad Gulzar Kiyani (Retd), Lieutenant General Naeem Akbar(Retd) and Brigadier Mehmood-ul-Islam (Retd)said Pervez Musharraf is an unconstitutional President and his actions should not be protected and bring him to the court of law along with his accomplices.
Recognising the Islamabad Declaration of August 7, they vowed to play their part to meet the challenges confronting to the country and work for the strengthening of the democracy and Pakistan and put it on the road to progress and prosperity.
The society announced to form three panels consisting of ex-servicemen, bureaucrats, diplomats and activists of civil society which will release authentic proofs against Pervez Musharraf.
The society also passed a resolution in favour of impeachment motion and urged the political forces to unite at a single platform which will repeal every unconstitutional action of Musharraf and bring back the judiciary at November 2nd position. It said the government should not give safe passage to Musharraf and he be tried.
"Ex-servicemen will continue to work for the promotion of democratic process, supremacy of the constitution and security and strengthening of the country", it said. To a question, Admiral Fasih Bukhari (Retd) who was also present on the occasion responded to a question said Musharraf is the President of the country and meetings of General Ishfaq Pervez Kayani are part of routine work as the Army is completely neutral. He said the army would not support unconstitutional step of Pervez Musharraf.
Lieutenant General Jamshad Gulzar Kiyani (Retd) said the panels will review the law and order situation in Fata, Swat, tribal areas, economic situation and prepare charge sheet against Pervez Musharraf.
