Sahil, a non-governmental organisation is holding a one-day media consultation on the 'Role of the Media as Advocate on Child Protection issues' on Monday (today). Sahil is working exclusively for the rights of children.
The objective of its media consultation is to understand media involvement for the dissemination of information on the issues of child rights and protection.
District Nazism, Rashid Shafique will be the chief guest at the event while Abdul Wadood Qureshi, Resident Editor, Daily Kabyrain will be the guest of honour.
The aim of the consolation is to sensitise media journalists from social and crime beats on child protection issues in the light of National Plan of Action (NPA) for children. Organisers of the event hope that holding of such consultations, will improve understanding of media men on key social issues like child abuse.
