Beacon house School System in collaboration with University College Plymouth St. Mark & St. John (MARJON), UK, has announced to organise two-week course on 'Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Development' for teachers from 1I to 22 August, 2008 at Pearl Continental, Lahore.
More than fifty professional teachers will attend the course from Pakistan and Malaysia, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jehlum, Gujrat, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Sailkot, Hafizabad, Karachi, Bahawalpur, Raheem Yar Khan and Kuala Lumpur. In this connection a well-equipped computer lab with Internet facility and a well-stocked library have already been set up.
This is a professional development programme, which give an idea how to manage self-managed study and inquiry, supported by local tutors in Pakistan and online learning facilities and teachers will be encouraged to make the most of this opportunity to professional development in their working contexts. The tutors for the programme are Dr Tony Wright, Head of Postgraduate Programmes, International Education, Steve Ansell, Senior Lecturer at MARJON and Tina Hameed, Deputy Director Teacher Education Beacon house, a Honorary Scholar and alumni of MARJON.
