Karsaz blast case: SHC adjourns state appeal till August 28

Justice Syed Mahmood Alam Rizvi of Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday adjourned the hearing of an appeal filed by State against orders of the then District and Sessions Judge, East directing police to lodge version of Benazir Bhutto in respect of Karzas twin bombing tragedy.
Today when the appeal challenging order by Agha Rafique Ahmed Khan presently federal law secretary came up for hearing, Hyder Ali Sundrani advocate, representing Farooq H. Naek, counsel for slain Ms Bhutto submitted that Benazir has embraced martyrdom and thus appeal is now abated and anfractuous. He prayed to the court to dismiss the appeal by State.
An Additional Advocate General Sindh representing Sindh government in the criminal miscellaneous appeal however opposed the request made by the counsel for respondent Benazir Shaheed and sought time to seek instructions from the government. The judge allowed the request and adjourned the matter till August 28.
