Minister assures maximum relief to people during Ramazan

The Provincial Minister for Supply and Prices, Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari has said that provision of maximum relief to people during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak is the government's top priority. Chairing a meeting of wholesalers, retailers and office-bearers and representatives of consumer's organisations.
The Minister appealed to business community to maintain prices of essential commodities during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak at an affordable level for people with minimum rate of profit so that a common man could get relief. He said government would extend them full co-operation at every level.
He warned that if his appeal falls on deaf ears, the government will not hesitate to take strict punitive action to maintain its writ and no leniency will be shown in this regard. He expressed the hope that participants of meeting would fully co-operate with the government during the holy month of Ramazan.
The minister asked whey the prices rocketed during Ramazan and also why the profiteering and hoarding trends go high during the month. However, the government's all out effort would be not only to check this practice but also keep vigil on conspiring elements, identify them and not to allow them to succeed in their nefarious designs. The meeting was attended by Secretary Agriculture Sabhago Khan Jatoi and EDO Enterprise.
