Campaign against profiteers, hoarders continues

The DCO, Major Azam Suleman Khan (Retd) has directed a vigorous campaign against the profiteers and hoarders in Faisalabad district.
The Deputy District Officer (DDO) (Revenue), Saddar/Special, Price Magistrate, Kiran Khurshed has conducted surprise raids in this regard on different markets to check the prices of essential commodities arrested two shopkeepers on the charge of selling flour bags at prices higher than officially fixed rates.
Shopkeeper Afzal was fined Rs5000 while Rs3000 was imposed on another shopkeeper, Ghulam Mustafa.
According to the orders issued by the DDO, the arrested shopkeepers will have to undergo one-week imprisonment in case of non-payment of the fine money.
The DDO has also taken legal action against the shopkeepers Munir Ahmad, Muhammad Ashraf, Altaf and Muhammad Gulzar of Chak No 67/JB Sadhaar for being involved in illegal and dangerous act of decanting of LP Gas cylinder. A case has been registered under section 285/286 PPC in the Thikrwala Police Station after arresting the offenders.
