Decision on entry test requirement soon

Punjab Minister for Auqaf, Haji Ehsan-uddin Qureshi has said the government will finalise decision about entrance test requirement for admission into professional institutes within a week. The Minister told newsmen on Saturday that Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Shahbaz Sharif raised the issue soon after assuming the office.
The minister expressed hope that the decision would be made in accordance with the desire of the students before admissions to professional educational institutions starts.
Further, he said that education was the top priority of the government, 'We are working on education reform in Punjab under the guidance of Chief Minister'.
He also said that the government would make an effort to achieve 70 percent literacy rate in Punjab within the next five years and will make the province a true 'Parha Likha Punjab'.
Qureshi stated that previous government imposed an emergency for its own benefits but the government led by Pakistan Muslim League-N had imposed education emergency in order to reform education sector and improve the standard of education. 'We must improve the quality education and pay attention to teachers'training,' he added.
