LHC takes notice of illegal detention

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed District Police Officer (DPO), Okara, to produce forthwith a detainee before the court, who is illegally detained by a sub-inspector and also ordered to initiate departmental proceedings against him.
The petitioner, Muhammad Asif, submitted that SI investigation police station B-division, Okara, Javed Khan, along with other police officials, raided on his house and took away his father Dilawar Khan and brother Muhammad Usman and beat them brutally before his arrest.
Though his father got released on bail, while no clue for his brother have been found yet, the petitioner said. The SI, who was present in the court, disclosed that the detainees were required by police in an FIR, however, he failed to explain the reason to torture the detainee.
