NWFP Assembly for naming Peshawar airport after Bacha Khan

NWFP Assembly on Friday passed a unanimous resolution demanding of the federal government to name Peshawar International Airport after Bacha Khan, renowned freedom fighter and founder of the Red Shirt Movement in sub-continent during British rule.
The resolution was moved by Senior Minister and Parliamentary Leader of ANP in NWFP, Bashir Ahmad Bilour while Speaker Kiramatullah Khan suspended the rules to enable the mover. The Speaker put the resolution to vote, which was approved unanimously.
The house on Thursday had passed a resolution demanding of the provincial government to name District Headquarters Hospital Abbottabad after Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. The house had adopted the resolution unanimously.
The second resolution regarding the allotment of plots in Regi Lalma Model Town to members of the assembly and its employees, however, failed to get unanimous approval as some members opposed it on the grounds that majority of the members and employees had already got allotment in the scheme.
Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, the father of late rehbar of ANP, Khan Abdul Wali Khan and grandfather of the present president of ANP Asfandyar Wali Khan was also known as Gandhi of NWFP due to his close relations with Mahatma Gandhi.
