US copper futures rose more than one percent early on Wednesday as the combination of a down dollar and stronger crude oil prices underpinned the red metal's morning advance, analysts said.
Copper for September delivery was trading up 4.90 cents, or 1.4 percent, at $3.4875 a lb by 10:13 am EDT (1413 GMT) on the New York Mercantile Exchange's Comex division. The morning was from $3.43 to $3.4915. Comex estimated futures volume at 8,227 lots by 9 am.
