The manufacturers of towel and related accessories got most encouraging response from the intending buyers at the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Exhibition-2008 that concluded here on Thursday, said one of the Pakistani exhibitors. There is big scope of made in Pakistan towels in Chinese market, as our country manufactures fine thick quality of towels that are very popular here, he said.
He pointed out that it was a very successful fair for him and other exhibitors as Pakistan is taking part for the second time in running. The exhibitor, who deals with home textile including bed sheets and other related items said that he held business meetings with more than 30 customers and got good response. He was of the view that on return, his company would hold further negotiations to finalise various deals.
Meanwhile, the Consulate General of Pakistan last evening hosted a dinner for the Pakistani participating in the Shanghai textile exhibition. As many as 15 key entrepreneurs from Pakistan attended the exhibition to showcase their products. Pavilion from Pakistan return this year after its success in 2007, said organiser of the 3-day Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Exhibition-2008.
The Consulate General of Pakistan had obtained a pavilion at a conspicuous place for the country's exporters to display their goods in a better way. As per organisers, the show was one of the largest home textile trade events in Asia, as it featured special zones for bedding, towels, curtains and upholstery displayed by famous suppliers.
Pavilions from Pakistan and Portugal returned this year after their success in 2007; and for the first time Taiwan and Turkey also be established their stalls, said the organiser. Over 100 important buyers attended the fair from across China and also Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan. Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles was organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT and China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
