'Effort on for betterment of minorities'

The government is making all out efforts for the betterment of the minorities. Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shahnaz Wazir Ali stated this while speaking at 'Jashn-e-Nauroze' here on Friday night organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Minorities.
She said the Parsi community had contributed towards the development of Karachi and played a significant role in this regard. She also pointed out that the government had given representation to the minorities in every walk of life especially in the parliament.
She said the philosophy of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was equality, supremacy of law, justice and liberty. The Special Assistant further stated, "we want to foster tolerance as was desired by Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed." She urged the youth to fight against extremism and reminded that "Islam teaches us peace and harmony." Shahnaz said the government was introducing reserve seats of minorities in the Senate.
