Work on Thar coal project to be undertaken on war footing

The Advisor to Chief Minister for Mines and Minerals, Dr Kahtumal Jeewan has said that in view of existing power crisis, he has directed the officials to work on Thar coal project on war footing. He was talking to media after inaugurating Sindh Coal Authority Library here Friday.
Provincial Minister for Irrigation and Power Jam Saifullah Dharejo, Minister for Co-operation Jalil Memon, Advisor to Chief Minister for Anti-Corruption, Gul Mohammed Laat, MPAs Najmuddin Ahro; Dr Sikandar Shoro, Sharjeel Memon and officials of department were present on the occasion. The advisor said that due to previous government's wrong policies prestige of country suffered but now PPP government will ensure that the project is carried forward and people are benefited.
He said it was unfortunate that Wapda and oil companies put hurdles and obstacles in the way of the project. But with positive approach our government will ensure that the work on it starts at the earliest.
Referring to the library, Dr Khattumal said that it will provide very informative material to local and foreign investors and will be connected with internet as well so that people around the globe could avail the facility of material on Thar Coal. Speaking on the occasion, Jam Saifullah Dharejo informed that Sindh Thar Coal Board is working vigorously on the Project.
