Career Development Centre (CDC), University of Agriculture Faisalabad will organise a capacity building workshop for females college teachers of Faisalabad, Sarghodha, Bhalwal, Khushab and Soon Skacer. The arrangements in this regard will be finalised soon.
After a meeting with the University Authorities, Ms Asia Nazi, Career Development Officer at CDC said that Gender Reform Action Plan (GRAP) of government of the Punjab is going to launch "GRAP Internship Program" for the females having master's degrees in social sciences.
She said that goal of GRAP is to bring about such changes in the structure and process of the government that it promotes equity among men and women, and to enable it to deliver on the rights and entitlements of women.
She said that CDs have been established in four public sector universities including Punjab University Lahore, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Baha-ud-Din Zakria University Multan, and Islamia University Bahawalpur. These centres are equipped with materials giving details of terms and conditions of competitive examinations.
She said that under the leadership and guidance of Project Co-ordinator Aftab Fathom Mires, GRAP has started its working in 16 districts of the province and very soon the remaining 9 districts will be also covered by the GRAP.
Highlighting the objectives of the CDC, she said that there was a need to enhance the professional capabilities of the students with skills and attitudes. -to seek and obtain a job, maintain liaison with Federal/Provincial P SC for obtaining material on competitive exams for Civil Services.
-- To invite bureaucrats, judges, women entrepreneur and members of Federal, Provincial and Public Services for interaction with students, conduct workshop and seminars to encourage students toward public and private employment, training sessions for the skill enhancement of the students.
-- To provide career counselling to students for career selection, develop and maintain placement board for students, and to perform as the main link between students and industries, Ms Asia concluded.
