The Lahore High Court has directed to register a criminal case against Munir Mughal claiming to be an official of ISI and involved in kidnapping of petitioners' son Irfan. The petitioner Rehmat Ali contended that Mughal obtained a loan of rupees one lac from him and refused to pay it back. He said after repeated demands, Baber gave him a message to receive half of the loan amount.
Therefore, he sent his son, Irfan to get the money from Babar. But, neither Irfan returned nor Babar paid him back. Meanwhile, one Munir Mughal who claimed to be an official of ISI, threatened the petitioner not to claim money or he will kill Irfan. Later Mughal and his accomplices demanded Rs 7 lac against his son's release.
The petitioner therefore approached the respondent police officials for recovery of his son and registration of case but police neither register case nor recovered his son. He therefore prayed to the court to direct the respondent police SHO to recover his son and register a criminal case against the respondents. The court disposed of the petitioner after SHO Sabazar appeared before the court and gave undertaking to register a criminal case if, the petitioner approaches him.
