Curfew continues on ninth day in occupied Kashmir

In occupied Kashmir, curfew remained clamped on ninth conservative day on Monday. The curfew, which was relaxed in a phased manner over few hours in the Kashmir Valley, was re-imposed following pro-liberation and anti-India demonstrations in all towns and cities, while the protest strike was observed in Bandipora town after the relaxation in curfew, KMS reported.
Indian troops beat up people with batons, fired numerous tear smoke canisters and resorted to firing, when hundreds of youth defying curfew took out a procession against Indian state terrorism at Batamaloo in Srinagar on Monday. The protestors also raised pro-liberation and anti-India slogans. "Troops went berserk and broke the window panes of many houses and beat up the inmates," witnesses told media men.
Curfew was imposed in Kashmir Valley on Sunday morning in which shortage of essentials, medicines and several delivery and deaths were reported due to the Indian troops atrocities and curfew restrictions. Meanwhile, 38 persons were injured as troops fired bullets and lobbed teargas shells to disperse mob in Srinagar, Sopore, Islamabad, Shopian, Tral and Pulwama areas on Sunday.
